Shannon Greenwood – A Testament to Teamwork and Tenacity at CMH

Shannon Greenwood

In the bustling halls of Campbellford Memorial Hospital, amidst the dedicated staff ensuring top-notch care, you’ll find Shannon Greenwood — a cornerstone of the housekeeping team since 2003. Shannon’s journey in healthcare began as a Personal Support Worker (PSW), influenced by her love for interacting with and caring for elderly individuals.

Shannon’s journey eventually led her to CMH, where she initially joined as a housekeeper. She briefly ventured into the kitchen before returning to housekeeping, where she found her niche amid the hum of hospital life.

Throughout her tenure, Shannon has taken great pride in the inclusive environment created by CMH staff. Regardless of title or department, everyone is valued — contributing to a familial atmosphere that Shannon treasures.

“Being such a small community hospital, it is more like family than work. It is easier to go in every day when you enjoy your time with your co-workers,” noted Shannon.

Mentorship has played a pivotal role in Shannon’s journey, particularly from the women she’s had the privilege to work alongside. Learning from their experiences, guidance, and support has been instrumental in shaping her career trajectory. As a woman in healthcare, she understands the importance of lifting each other up and creating pathways for growth and advancement.

When asked about her greatest accomplishment at CMH, Shannon jokes, “I’m still here.” Despite her modesty, her contributions to CMH are undeniable. Beyond keeping the hospital clean, she plays an integral role in infection prevention and control, and the pride and dedication she brings to her work are second to none.

Beyond the hospital, Shannon finds joy in spending time with her children. Whether camping under the stars or exploring adventures around the province, she embraces life with balance — cherishing both her professional and personal pursuits.
