Learners Challenge Us to Do Better
Campbellford Memorial Hospital is proud to support hospital-based medical education. We welcome learners who are eager to expand their clinical skills in a rural hospital environment that values autonomy, interdisciplinary collaboration, and hands-on experience.
Learning opportunities at CMH are centered within the hospital setting and may include:
- Emergency Medicine
- Hospitalist / Inpatient Medicine
- 4-Bed Special Care Unit
- Palliative and End-of-Life Care
- Diagnostic Imaging exposure
- Interdisciplinary inpatient rounds
Our learners gain meaningful exposure to broad-scope rural hospital medicine, working closely with attending physicians, Nurse Practitioners, Physician Assistants, nursing staff, and allied health professionals.

Residents
CMH offers selective hospital-based rotations and electives for residents seeking exposure to rural Emergency Medicine and inpatient care. Residents benefit from direct supervision while maintaining a high degree of clinical responsibility appropriate to their level of training.
Medical Students
Medical students completing hospital-based electives at CMH experience hands-on learning in Emergency and inpatient medicine. Students are integrated into clinical teams and participate in assessments, care planning, and interdisciplinary discussions.
Applications for formal rotations are processed through the appropriate university channels and the Rural Ontario Medical Program (ROMP): www.romponline.com. Due to high demand, placement opportunities are limited.
