Campbellford Memorial Hospital’s Redevelopment Planning Committee is made up of dedicated professionals and community members with deep expertise in health care, infrastructure, governance, and public service. Together, they are guiding the strategic planning and execution of CMH’s future hospital redevelopment project, ensuring that our new facility will meet the evolving needs of our patients, staff, and broader community.

From government relations to capital project delivery, each member brings a unique lens and skillset to the table. With strong local roots and extensive sector experience, the committee is committed to a collaborative, accountable, and community-first approach to building the future of care in Trent Hills.

Carrie Hayward

Chair

Carrie Hayward is a retired Assistant Deputy Minister from the Ontario Public Service with an extensive background in health care policy, planning, and government relations. Throughout her public sector career, she held executive leadership roles in the Ministries of Health and Long-Term Care, Community and Social Services, and Natural Resources and Forestry, overseeing large teams and complex projects with far-reaching public impact. She also previously served as the Health Director for the Anishinabek Nation, further broadening her understanding of health equity and Indigenous health systems.

Carrie has long-standing roots in Campbellford, her family has lived in the area since 1906, and she has called Trent Hills home for more than a decade. In addition to her professional experience, she brings board governance expertise from her time on the LOFT Community Services board, where she chairs the Bradford House Redevelopment Committee. With deep knowledge of planning processes, stakeholder engagement, and capital project oversight, Carrie brings strategic insight and a community-first focus to CMH’s redevelopment efforts.

Glen Wood

Glen Wood brings a wealth of senior leadership and project management experience to the redevelopment committee, shaped by a 42-year career with DuPont Canada Inc. in both national and international roles. As a chemical engineer by training, Glen led large-scale operations and business initiatives, where financial management and strategic planning were key to his success. Since retiring, Glen has lent his talents to health care and has more than 20 years of volunteer leadership experience with healthcare organizations across Ontario.

Now a proud resident of Trent Hills, Glen is deeply committed to strengthening Campbellford Memorial Hospital’s future. He believes that health care is a vital pillar of any strong community and brings a long-term, patient-centered lens to redevelopment planning. Glen’s experience in governance, planning, and risk management, paired with his methodical, team-focused approach, make him a valuable voice in guiding CMH through the redevelopment project.


Doug Hunt

Doug Hunt

Doug Hunt is a retired lawyer and executive with more than four decades of experience in law, government, and forensic investigation. Over the course of his career, Doug served as Assistant Deputy Attorney General for Ontario and was later the founding and managing partner of Hunt Partners LLP. He also served as President of Forensic Investigative Associates (Canada) and Co-Chair of the organization’s international group. His work has consistently focused on litigation, regulatory affairs, and complex problem-solving, skills that are essential in large, high-stakes projects such as hospital redevelopment.

A longtime supporter of Campbellford Memorial Hospital, Doug lives in Warkworth and considers CMH a vital part of his community. He brings with him prior healthcare governance experience as a former Board Chair of Toronto East General Hospital (now Michael Garron Hospital), where he played a role in advancing capital redevelopment. Doug’s structured approach to governance, risk oversight, and deliverables management makes him a key contributor in ensuring CMH’s project meets its timelines, budgets, and quality benchmarks.


Eric Hanna

Eric Hanna

Eric Hanna is a seasoned hospital executive and Chartered Accountant with a long track record of leading healthcare institutions through strategic growth and infrastructure renewal. Eric is a retired healthcare executive who has previously served as CEO of Arnprior Regional Health, Campbellford Memorial Hospital, and Stevenson Memorial Hospital, where he led redevelopment planning efforts and strengthened local health system integration. Eric has also been a leader in long-term care development and played a key role in positioning hospitals to meet evolving community and Ministry expectations.

Eric’s depth of knowledge around government relations, hospital funding, and capital planning makes him a critical strategic advisor to the redevelopment committee. He understands the unique pressures of small and rural hospitals and brings a practical, solutions-focused approach to redevelopment. With a focus on alignment with Ministry priorities, meaningful engagement with patients and families, and data-driven decision-making, Eric helps ensure that CMH’s future development is both innovative and achievable.


Jeff Hohenkerk

Jeff Hohenkerk

Jeff Hohenkerk is the President and CEO of Campbellford Memorial Hospital, bringing more than 35 years of progressive healthcare leadership experience to the role. Known for his transformational leadership style and passion for innovation, Jeff has built a career advancing system-wide improvements, fostering collaborative partnerships, and championing community-centered care.

Prior to joining CMH, Jeff served as Vice President & Chief Transformation Officer at Quinte Health, where he provided executive oversight of clinical operations, human resources, partnerships, and health system integration. He was a key driver behind several major clinical and capital redevelopment initiatives, including the planning and design of the new Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital, demonstrating his ability to lead complex, multi-stakeholder projects from concept to execution.

A credentialed Medical Radiological Technologist with advanced education in Health Sciences and Leadership, Jeff combines deep clinical insight with strategic acumen. His leadership approach is grounded in values-based service, innovation adoption, and empowering teams to deliver high-performing, future-ready care. He is especially recognized for leveraging digital health tools, redesigning care delivery models, and driving change that aligns with evolving patient and system needs.

Jeff’s strong relationships with government, Ontario Health, and regional health partners position him as an influential leader in rural health system transformation. As CMH embarks on its next chapter of hospital redevelopment and rebranding, Jeff’s visionary leadership ensures the hospital is poised to thrive, today and well into the future.


June Tutak

June Tutak

June Tutak is an accomplished project management executive with more than 40 years of experience in business operations, including 25 years dedicated to project leadership. She has held senior roles in organizations such as Novartis Medical Nutrition Canada, where she was Director of Operations and a member of the Senior Management Team. June has deep knowledge in business integration, procurement, contract management, and financial analysis, with certifications in project management from York University and information and resource management from Ryerson (now Toronto Metropolitan University).

Her experience working across borders with legal, regulatory, and quality teams in Canada and the U.S. has equipped her with the communication and documentation skills needed for high-complexity projects. June brings a disciplined and structured approach to redevelopment planning, emphasizing transparency, milestone tracking, and respectful engagement across teams. Her understanding of stakeholder alignment and readiness planning ensures CMH’s redevelopment is rooted in clarity, accountability, and long-term success.


Rick Gowrie

Rick Gowrie

Rick Gowrie is a recognized specialist in health care facility redevelopment, with more than 25 years of experience in planning, project delivery, and hospital operations. Most recently, Rick served as Vice President of Facilities and Capital Development at Sinai Health, where he led the multi-year, $500 million+ Renew Sinai Phase 3A redevelopment. This transformative project involved over 140 coordinated projects and more than 300,000 square feet of space, all completed within an active hospital environment.

Rick’s previous leadership roles at Southlake Regional Health Centre and Scarborough Health Network, as well as his time as a health care planner at Agnew Peckham, have shaped his expertise in large capital builds, government approval processes, and stakeholder collaboration. With a focus on patient and staff experience, risk mitigation, and Ministry compliance, Rick brings unmatched depth to CMH’s redevelopment committee. His experience with Infrastructure Ontario and the Ministry of Health ensures the hospital’s planning aligns with provincial project delivery standards.


Val

Valerie Przybilla

Valerie Przybilla brings deep knowledge of municipal operations, procurement, and project planning to CMH’s redevelopment committee. With certifications in Public Administration, Municipal Management, and Accounting, Valerie has spent more than three decades serving in municipal government, where she developed a comprehensive understanding of how infrastructure projects intersect with public needs, regulations, and budgets.

Valerie also has a longstanding relationship with Campbellford Memorial Hospital through her governance involvement and community advocacy. Her ability to navigate procurement processes, manage vendor contracts, and align project goals with community expectations is essential in ensuring that the redevelopment is fiscally responsible and publicly accountable. Valerie’s expertise in foundation and donor relations also helps bridge the connection between hospital fundraising efforts and long-term capital planning success.


 

Wayne Shaw

Wayne Shaw brings extensive experience in institutional operations, sustainability, and major project delivery. Over his career, Wayne has led large-scale facilities management programs with a focus on maximizing operational efficiency while ensuring high standards of safety, functionality, and service continuity. His expertise in operational readiness planning and project governance makes him an asset in the design and implementation phases of healthcare redevelopment.

Wayne is known for his collaborative leadership style and ability to work seamlessly across multidisciplinary teams. He understands the importance of involving frontline staff, respecting institutional history, and preparing organizations for smooth transitions through infrastructure change. With a strong focus on risk mitigation and goal alignment, Wayne ensures that capital projects like CMH’s are grounded in both vision and operational reality.
