Auxiliary
Auxiliary members raise funds through community support to enhance patient care at Campbellford Memorial Hospital.
History:
On June 11th1943 a group of ten dedicated and caring women saw the need for a volunteer group to assist staff within the existing Campbellford Hospital. Today, the Auxiliary to the Campbellford Memorial Hospital raises funds in support of patient care within our hospital.
To date, the Auxiliary has raised over 2 million dollars for the purchase of patient care equipment. Essential equipment has been acquired to assist and enhance patient care within the hospital because of the funds raised through the Gift Shop and community events
Community Fundraising Events:
The Auxiliary organizes various community fundraising events throughout the year to meet its donation goals.
Community events include:
- Spring Fashion Show
- Spring Plant & Bake Sale
- Tag Days
- Christmas Market
- Golf Tournament
- Polar Plunge
- Friends of the Auxiliary Giving Champions
- Hospital Gift Shop
Membership:
Auxiliary events rely on volunteers. Individuals interested in supporting the hospital as part of the Auxiliary volunteer group can contact the Membership Convenor through the Hospital Gift Shop at (705) 653-1140, extension 2136 or by speaking to one of the Auxiliary members.
The Hospital Gift Shop, which operates exclusively with volunteers, regularly seeks new participants. Those able to commit time weekly, or monthly, and who wish to volunteer at the Gift Shop may contact the Membership Convenor.
Meetings:
Hospital Auxiliary meetings take place on the second Friday of each month at 1:30 p.m. at Rotary Hall, 179 Saskatoon Avenue, Campbellford. Meetings do not occur in July and August. Guests and prospective volunteers are encouraged to attend the meetings.
