Campbellford Memorial Hospital (CMH) announced today the completion of an Ecological Constraints assessment at their proposed Campus of Care location.

"The layout of the first floor makes it really hard if a patient needs to walk the hallways safely as part of their rehabilitation or to prevent deconditioning,"

"Over the past year, we have not only seen an increase in patient volumes but also a rise in patient acuity levels," said Heather Campbell, Vice President of Patient Care at CMH. "This means that in addition to increased patient volumes, patients who are admitted are staying in the hospital for longer periods and require more intensive and specialized care. Our current facilities are often stretched to their limits, making the need for a redeveloped hospital more critical than ever."

As part of the Campus of Care, the new ED will modernize emergency care by creating a larger space designed in a layout that supports growing patient volumes and acuity levels, patient privacy, comfort and dignity, and supports better patient flow and adherence to quality standards

Campbellford Memorial Hospital (CMH) is excited to unveil its first artist rendering for their proposed Campus of Care. The development will be located on County Road 30, just west of the town of Campbellford, on a plot of land donated by local farmer Jim Curle.

Over the past several months, CMH has been increasing their engagement with officials inside the Ministry of Health advocating for grant approval.

Campbellford Memorial Hospital (CMH) was joined by provincial and municipal politicians, OMNI Health Care and other key stakeholders to formally announce the proposed location for the future Campus of Care.

CMH is currently in the early stages of planning the redevelopment of its existing hospital to a new campus of care.

Community members now have their chance to share why they wish for a new Campbellford Memorial Hospital (CMH) while visiting two local grocery stores.

Recent announcements of government support for major hospital redevelopment projects in Brantford, Barrie and Bowmanville were great news for those communities but came as disappointments to proponents of the redevelopment of CMH.

Campbellford Memorial Hospital’s (CMH) 11 municipal partners have all extended formal support for the redevelopment of the hospital as part of a campus of care to better serve the healthcare needs of their communities.

“We have the care factor. We just need to combine the care factor with phenomenal facilities.”
