TRENT HILLSThe Campbellford Memorial Hospital (CMH) Foundation is thrilled to announce that the 7th Annual Incredible Doctors’ Cook-Off was an outstanding success, raising $173,102 for the purchase of a new CT Scanner for the Hospital. The sold-out event held on Friday, July 7th under the marquee next to the Trent River in Downtown Campbellford featured eight local doctors paired up with local chefs to create delicious appetizers. The evening also included entertainment, a raffle and silent auction, and was hosted by popular CP24 Reporter Mika Midolo.

The emotional highlight of the evening was the Fund-a-Need for the Hospital where guests were invited to make special gifts to the CT Scanner fundraising effort. In a unique twist, a large picture of the CT Scanner was on display and surrounded by 150 lights. Each light represented a $1,000 donation to the campaign. To launch the Fund-a-Need, Janice Eichner announced a special gift in memory of her husband Karl, who passed away in 2022. Janice told the Cook-Off guests that Karl was passionate about Campbellford Memorial Hospital and the great care it provides to our extended community. As a tribute to Karl, Janice made a $30,000 donation from his estate to the CT Scanner campaign. She switched on 30 lights surrounding the picture of the CT and later made a personal $20,000 gift to the campaign. By the end 23 additional donors had stepped up with generous gifts, the Fund-a-Need had secured an incredible $153,000, and all of the lights were aglow.

“We are absolutely thrilled with the success of this year’s Doctors’ Cook-off and can’t thank everyone enough,” said Martha Hunt, Chair, CMH Foundation. “It’s truly heart-warming to see the donors, guests, doctors, chefs, sponsors and volunteers come together for the Hospital and something as important as the new CT Scanner Campaign.”

The CMH Foundation would like to thank the Auxiliary to CMH and Incredible Edibles Festival for their partnership with the event along with the generous sponsors who supported the Cook-Off this year. In addition to Presenting Sponsor, Maizeing Acres, the Incredible Doctors’ Cook-off was sponsored Aspira Island Park Retirement Living, Batavia Homes, Janie Harrison/Century 21 Lanthorn Real Estate Ltd., Concrete Craft Northumberland, Neil Ganson | RBC Wealth Management Dominion Securities, KPMG, TD Canada Trust, Rotary Club of Campbellford, Weaver Funeral Services, Campbellford Wholesale and Giant Tiger.

Mark your calendars for Friday, July 12, 2024 and the 8th Annual Incredible Doctors’ Cook-Off.
